Presented at the 24th Filamentous Fungal Molecular Biology Conference
At the 24th Filamentous Fungal Molecular Biology Conference held at Nagoya University from Monday, November 17th to Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, Researcher Senba of the Biosciences Group at the Research Institute gave an oral presentation and a poster presentation on the following topic.
Title: Development of a method for extracting long-chain DNA from Aspergillus oryzae suitable for long-read sequencing
Whole genome analysis has become widespread recently, but highly accurate sequencing requires the preparation of high-quality long-chain DNA. In this study, we demonstrated that genomic DNA prepared from protoplasts of Aspergillus oryzae using the cell wall-lytic enzyme Yatalase🄬 enables the efficient isolation of long-chain DNA exceeding 200 kb, making it effective for whole genome analysis.
We will continue to contribute to society through koji mold biotechnology.
