Koji mold (Aspergillus oryzae) has been used for hundreds of years to produce fermented foods such as sake, soy sauce, and miso, and is recognized for its high safety.
In addition, due to its high protein production capacity, it is attracting attention as a host for protein production.
We have successfully constructed a protein expression system using koji mold and are now offering contract protein expression services.
There are many examples of successful mass production.

Flow of contracted services
Basic Work
- Expression vector construction (~2 weeks)
- The target gene is inserted into our high-expression vector, a transformation vector is constructed, and the sequence is then confirmed.
- Obtaining and purifying transformants (up to 4 weeks)
- The koji mold is transformed, and after screening for transformants, they are purified by subculture.
- Confirmation of expression (up to 4 weeks)
- Using the obtained transformants, expression is confirmed by SDS-PAGE or Western analysis, and the number of expression cassettes introduced is estimated by real-time PCR.
- Preparation of offerings (~2 weeks)
- The transformants are cultured, and after harvesting, we provide the culture supernatant or bacterial cell extract.

- Codon modification
- The gene is designed and totally synthesized to match the codon usage frequency of koji mold.

- The transformants are cultured in a jar fermenter and the culture supernatant is provided.
